The role:

A Senior Software Engineer is an essential role within the Support and Change team at One Beyond, focused on maintaining the integrity and reliability of software applications. This role plays a crucial part in addressing and solving technical issues that arise, ensuring that customers receive prompt and effective solutions to their problems.

What you will be doing on a daily basis:

  • Maintaining and supporting systems that are within the Support and Change department
  • Working on Change projects, delivery high-quality bespoke software code
  • Talking through requirements with the client and the engineering team
  • Ensuring new projects are successfully transitioned into the Support and Change department, by working closely with the project software engineering team
  • Utilising One Beyond’s support helpdesk to identify issues or change requests, updating the workflow status and communicating with the client
  • Supporting the Support Manager and the team with ticket investigation: Determining whether the ticket is data issue, infrastructure problem, genuine bug or a change request

Skills and requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in a Software Developer role
  • Problem-solving: The ability to identify the cause of a technical issue and find a solution, being able to tackle a bug on an application that you’re not familiar with, and conduct the suitable next steps
  • Technical skills: A good knowledge of computer software, and the ability to provide clear technical instructions
  • Customer service: The ability to provide prompt and accurate customer service, and increase client satisfaction
  • Communication: The ability to communicate well with non-technical users
  • Organisation: The ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Debugging and profiling skills in Database centric systems
