Simmons Bakers is a well-established, family-run bakery brand operating in Hertfordshire since 1838. With a central production bakery and more than 40 retail stores

The Challenge

Simmons Bakers wanted to replace their ageing on-premises software systems with a modern, cloud-hosted solution that could support the business for years to come. The aim was to improve performance, enhance operational efficiency, reduce their dependency on outdated technology, and have software that is more easily maintained and supported. This needed to be done with zero interruptions to the ensure business continuity.

  • Real-time audit logging & activity tracking to ensure clear visibility into order changes and store performance.
  • Seamless integration with legacy FoxPro data allowing the new ordering system to operate alongside the existing platform during the rollout without disrupting operations.

Stock Management System 

  • Centralised supplier, product and category management, ensuring consistent and clean master data management. 
  • Real-time stock scanning, lookups, and stock adjustments, reducing discrepancies and enabling more accurate stock levels. 
  • Configurable rules for product handling, including minimum/maximum levels and attributes. 
  • Support for full stock handling from purchase orders, goods receipts, write offs and on hand quantity tracking. 
  • Barcode scanning and tablet-friendly UI, enabling store teams to process stock quickly on the warehouse floor. 
  • Advanced recipes compilation and versioning, with stock item traceability from goods receipts through to recipe batches and shop order delivery.  
  • Improved traceability, with audit history for all stock movements and changes. 

HR System

  • Strict role-based access control with MFA, ensuring that sensitive HR information is only visible to authorised users.
  • Centralised employee profiles, storing core staff details, employment information, pay rates, and status updates.
  • Automated processes for maintaining pay rates, employment status changes, and contractual details.
